Welcome to BMD Interactive
I have been working as an interactive producer for nearly two decades. I started out as a part-time HTML coder for a local ISP in 1997 and within two years time had moved into a full-time position as Senior Designer. I spent the following decade learning the craft of graphic design and studying high-level branding on the job. In 2006 I made the switch over to full-time Flash and PHP development, coding rich-media sites and applications.
Over the course of my career I have worked at some of the largest advertising agencies in the world, providing creative and technical services for major brands such as P&G, Citibank, HBO, GE, Merck and many, many more. In the spring of 2016, I had grown weary of applying my skills towards such massive entities and decided to strike out on my own as a full-service interactive consultant and contractor, focusing on small-to-medium-sized businesses.

Dr. Gitlove: Or How I Learned to Stop Using FTP and Love Source ControlDecember 14, 2016
When I first learned WordPress and only had to manage one project at a time, usually with months or years between builds, I was content to do things in what I would now call the hard way (and others would say the Cowboy way). Since starting work as a full-time consultant, I finally had to refine my workflow in order… Read More »
An Accidental Career: How HTML Changed My LifeDecember 12, 2016
Last week I participated in the Hour of Code at a local middle shoool. I was tasked with assisting some classes with coding exercises provided by Code.org, and giving a career presentation. This was the first time I ever had to sum up my career in a non-interview setting, and for a much more hostile/indifferent audience: 6-8th graders. I did… Read More »
From logos and animations to applications and code optimizations, I offer a wide array of a la carte contractual services.
My clients don't just rely on me as a designer or developer, but as a guide to choosing the right solutions to solve their business needs.
It is extremely rare that I have a client whose website is finished once my work on the project is completed. I can provide custom training and documentation so that you can update your site autonomously.
I've found that teaching others what I've learned is a crucial step in solidifying my own knowledge. I can craft and deliver a custom curriculum that elevates your skillset to the next level.
